Professional prolonged contact with antibacterial drugs, malnutrition, psychological and physical stress, polyhypovitaminosis, antibiotics, acute and chronic diseases of the digestive tract, surgical interventions, immunodeficiency states, starvation, food allergies, fermentopathy are the most common and urgent causes of intestinal dysbacteriosis (Vertkin A. et al., 1998). A change in the qualitative and quantitative composition of the bacterial microflora of the intestine - dysbacteriosis - can lead to a decrease in immunity, impaired bowel function, absorption of carbohydrates, fatty acids, amino acids, vitamins, and a deterioration in the general condition of the body. In addition, metabolic products and toxins produced by opportunistic flora reduce the detoxification function of the liver, increasing the symptoms of intoxication. Therefore, the elimination of dysbacteriosis is a necessary condition for restoring health.

The intestinal microflora performs vital functions (Okorokov A., 2000):

  • creates an acidic environment (pH of the medium of the colon up to 5.3-5.8), which prevents the reproduction of pathogenic and gas-forming flora;
  • promotes enzymatic digestion of food ingredients - enhances the hydrolysis of proteins, saponifies fats, ferments carbohydrates, dissolves fiber;
  • participates in the formation, synthesis and absorption of vitamins K, group B, folic and nicotinic acid;
  • contributes to the implementation of the synthetic, digestive and detoxification functions of the intestine - reduces the permeability of vascular tissue barriers for toxins, pathogenic and opportunistic microorganisms, prevents the penetration of bacteria into the systemic circulation;
  • increases the immunological resistance of the body - stimulates the function of lymphocytes, the synthesis of immunoglobulins, interferon, cytokines, increases the level of complement, the activity of lysozyme;
  • stimulates the synthesis of biologically active substances that have a positive effect on the digestive tract, cardiovascular system, hematopoiesis;
  • plays an important role in the final stages of cholesterol and bile acid metabolism.

A balanced composition of the intestinal microflora is of great importance for human health and quality of life. The digestive tract is colonized by bacteria a few hours after the birth of the child. A certain balance is established between these microorganisms - an individual qualitative and quantitative composition of the intestinal microflora is formed. Therefore, it is important to support your own bacteria, because it is difficult to fully restore the bacterial flora by colonizing bacteria.

To maintain your own microflora, you need to consume a sufficient amount of the so-called prebiotics - nutrients that nourish microorganisms. The energy and plastic needs of the normal intestinal flora are provided by carbohydrate nutrients, including lactulose.

Irrational nutrition - the use of refined foods, a decrease in the amount of vegetable coarse fiber foods in the diet - is the main reason for the insufficient intake of prebiotics in the body. Functional foods, the biologically active components of which are prebiotics, also help to fill their deficiency. In the treatment of intestinal dysbiosis of I-II degree, prebiotics are the drugs of choice. One of the most important prebiotics is lactulose (Moskal O., 2008).

It is lactulose, a synthetic disaccharide consisting of galactose and fructose, that is part of the LACTUSAN dietary supplement and determines its functional properties. This disaccharide is a substrate for the energy and plastic metabolism of lacto- and bifidobacteria - it promotes their growth, restoring the normal intestinal microflora. Unlike probiotics, lactulose can be consumed together with antibacterial drugs, which is its additional advantage (Belousova E., 2005). Thus, due to the fact that this carbohydrate nutrient is part of LACTUSAN, it has prebiotic properties and contributes to the normalization of the intestinal microflora in dysbacteriosis.

One of the consequences of this disease is the translocation of intestinal microorganisms into the systemic circulation, which leads to the circulation and accumulation of bacteria and their toxins in the tissues, the formation of cross-immunological reactivity. These and other pathological processes can lead to the appearance of allergic dermatosis.

By normalizing the quantitative and qualitative composition of the intestinal bacterial flora, LACTUSAN prevents the reproduction of pathogenic microflora and the translocation of intestinal bacteria; improves digestion and metabolism, normalizes the absorption of vitamins, increases immunity and overall body resistance.

In addition, lactulose helps to eliminate constipation and restore the physiological rhythm of bowel movement by stimulating colon peristalsis, increasing intracellular osmotic pressure, and increasing the volume of intestinal contents. Lactulose is also used for hepatic encephalopathy, hepatic (pre) coma, chronic hepatitis. In this case, its use is due to binding, reducing the formation and absorption from the intestine into the systemic circulation of ammonia and aromatic amino acids, which have a cerebrotoxic effect.

Thus, based on the therapeutic effects of lactulose, LACTUSAN can be recommended for a wide range of pathological conditions: dysbacteriosis - to normalize the intestinal microflora; constipation liver diseases of various etiologies; metabolic disorders, which is accompanied by allergic dermatosis; to strengthen immunity; increase the overall resistance of the body.

The efficacy and safety of LACTUSAN in various nosologies has been confirmed in the course of clinical studies: in dysbacteriosis in children under the age of 3 years and older (Bobrikov V., 2000, Vetrova L., 1999); viral hepatitis (Shutov A., 2000), cirrhosis of the liver with chronic hepatic encephalopathy (Baysheva Z., 2000). Also, during a clinical study of the immunomodulating and detoxifying effects of LACTUSAN (on the basis of the Yaroslavl State Medical Academy, Russia), it was found that when LACTUSAN was included in the diabetes treatment regimen, the number of T-cells (by 45%), B-cells (by 92%) increased in patients , as well as immunoglobulins (for 12%) (Sukhanov G., 2001). In the same study, it was shown that LACTUSAN in a group of patients with diseases of the liver and biliary tract, as well as dysbacteriosis, helps restore intestinal microflora and metabolism, as well as improve the general condition of the body.

LACTUSAN IS USED FOR:

  • dysbacteriosis: in adults - 2 teaspoons 2 times a day; in children over 3 years old - 1 teaspoon per day; in children aged 1 to 3 years - 0.5-1 teaspoon per day;
